Habitat for Humanity London Inc. was established in 1993 and is one of 72 affiliates of Habitat for Humanity®Canada.
We are a non-profit, non-denominational, Christian housing organization. We welcome partners without discrimination to help us build simple, decent and affordable homes with low-income families. 100% of proceeds from the operation of our two ReStores, are directed to funding the administrative costs of Habitat London.
Habitat London believes that every man, woman and child has the right to the confidence, security and hope that a home provides. We offer low-income families a hand-up, not a hand-out, empowering them to become successful homeowners. Affordable housing is key to building strong, equitable and thriving communities. By mobilizing volunteers and community partners, we can build affordable housing and promote home ownership as a means of breaking the cycle of poverty.
Amazing things happen to people when you “address” them.
We help families who:
- can demonstrate a need for affordable housing.
- are willing to partner with us and volunteer 500 hours of “sweat equity”.
- have the ability to repay an interest-free mortgage over an average of 25 years.
Mortgage revenues go directly into a revolving house building fund to continue building yet more Habitat homes.
